Description:
OH-58 Helicopter Electrician

Troubleshoots, repairs, removes, modifies and installs aircraft electrical systems wiring. Assembles, routes, and clamps electrical cables and wire harnesses on aircraft and other weapon systems. Strips wiring, crimps and solders pins, inserts pins and install connectors on electrical cables. Uses hand tools and electrical test equipment. Follows electrical drawings, schematics, safety procedures, military specifications and Standard and Technical Manuals to accomplish assigned tasks. Documents work performed in aircraft forms, records and Contract Field Team workbooks.

Working Conditions: May be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty, and dirty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, where applicable.

Experience: Must have a minimum of three years. Must have a background in electrical/avionics performing maintenace OH-58D Aircrafts. A&P license is perferred but not required

Qualification: Completion of Military Technical Training or comparable Civilian Trade School is desired.

Certification: Must be certified to perform tasks specified in L-3 Vertex Contract Field Team Standard Operating Procedures Manual, if required to perform those tasks.
