Description:
****You will be required to purchase three uniforms at an estimated total price of $150-$265.  The cost will vary depending on your size and the amount will be deducted from your paycheck in two installments.****

Position Purpose:
Independently construct, rework, repair, inspect and modify a wide range of tools from Engineering and Tool Design drawings using verbal or written instructions from the start of a job to the finish.

Provides a full range of tooling expertise to support Company's priorities set forth by Management.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
1. Independently perform setup and proficient operation of tool shop machinery and equipment to build, modify, and repair a wide range of tools from Engineering and/or Tool Design drawings.
2. Leads lower level toolmakers by demonstrating leadership ability.
3. Plans and lays out work from Engineering, Tool Design drawings, specific manuals, sketches and verbal instructions.
4. Coordinates interrelated tooling.
5. Performs all calculations of material and machine cutters (speeds & feeds).
6. Sets up and utilizes precision measuring tools; checks own work for conformance to specifications.
7. Sets up and conducts tool prove out on new and reworked tools.
8. Troubleshoots and solves machinability or fabrication problems encountered in the tooling process.
9. Accurately estimates time and material for work orders.
10. Communicates with others on work order status and completion of work.
11. Maintains expert quality track record.

Additional Functions:
1. Complies with all safety regulations.
2. Operates cart and forklift.
3. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
High School graduate/GED.
Must understand/apply shop math.   Ability to read/understand complex blueprints/sketches/verbal instructions/tool design.

Eight (8) years tooling experience and/or relevant training.  Proficient in operating all tool shop machinery and the use of precision measuring devices.  Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Must be qualified to operate CNC mill & lathe as well and other conventional machines building structural Test fixtures and test articles.
